Guidelines for cards
- All cards must be handmade (please no store-bought or computer-program created cards)
- Cards should be appropriate for children between the ages of 0-19 yrs
- Please avoid small embellishments such as brads, buttons, googly eyes on cards intended for very young children (these can be a choking hazard)
- Please leave cards blank on the inside so the nurse, staff or family can write a personal message to the patient
- Please include an envelope if your card is not standard sized (4-1/4 x 5-1/2). All standard sized cards do not need an accompanying envelope.
- Keep cards upbeat and happy; no "get well" cards please
- Please do not include religious symbols or themes in the cards; hospitals provide support for families of many different faiths and beliefs and the hospital staff are not always aware of what faith a child is
